Seney Natural History Association
Mission: To promote a better understanding and appreciation of the natural environment of the Upper peninsula, in particular, Seney National Wildlife Refuge
The Seney Natural History Association (SNHA) has helped fund programs at Seney National Wildlife Refuge since 1987. Funding monies come from sales in the visitor center bookstore, memberships, and generous donations from friends of the refuge.
SNHA Activities
- providing food allowancess for 4-6 student interns per year
- loaning binoculars and field guides to visitors
- funding, displays, newsletters, brochure, observation decks and scopes
- purchasing supplies for education trunks and field trips
- co-sponsoring special events such as Children's Fishing Day, Scout Day, and the winter Film Fest
