Realty Management Branch

The Branch of Realty Management is responsible for processing all Minnesota and Iowa small wetland cases (with the exception of Kossuth County), as well as non-funded land acquisitions, such as exchanges, donations, transfers, mitigations, withdrawals, and funded acquisitions for Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. The Branch is also responsible for maintaining the real property records systems, disposing of real property, researching and querying the records, as required.  The Branch processes right-of-way permit out-grants to third parties on Service land.  It is also responsible for updating the revenue sharing database, overseeing the distribution of revenue sharing payments and informing the project leaders of the payments.

Provides liaison with Office of the Field Solicitor for processing opinion of title on fee and less than fee interests in support of the conservation of habitat for Region 3.  Paralegal researches legal issues and provides review of new laws and regulations affecting the Division of Realty.   Negotiates and processes fee and less than fee acquisitions in support of the Realty Management Branch mission, as needed.
