Talking Circles
Talking circles and talking sticks are a Native American tradition. Mr. Ellis and Mr. McAllister use the talking circle regularly as part of the learning process; through reflection, the students can process and share what they are learning and experiencing.

Prairie Restoration
Students have been working in small groups to restore part of the tallgrass prairie. This has involved learning how to identify prairie plants, learning about native and nonnative species, and determining what species were currently in their plot and what native species could be added to increase prairie diversity.

Duck Banding
The students worked in small groups to band mallard ducks and record data on the ducks' age, weight, bill length, tarsus length, wing length, gender, and other characteristics.
