Final Environmental Assessment for the Glenville Dam
on the Baraboo River near Baraboo, Wisconsin

The final  Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) are  available for public information on the Glenville (Linen Mill) Dam project on the Baraboo River, in the Town of Greenfield, in Sauk County.   The Preferred Alternative as presented in the final EA was selected on September 30, 2001 as documented in the FONSI.    This project is proposed by the Wisconsin DNR for funding under the Wildlife Conservation and Restoration Program which is administered by the Service.   The dam has been found to be unsafe and some form of remedial action is necessary.  The selected Alternative is to remove the dam and to restore the river to its natural channel and flow.   Provided below is a copy of the final EA and a copy of the signed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
