Public Input Sought on Draft
Supplemental Environmental Assessment
for Additional Marina Improvements in
the City of Fulton, Illinois
The Service is seeking public comment on a draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment (EA) for the City of Fulton, Illinois marina which adds renovation and reconfiguration of dock structures, dredging, construction of a sediment control dike, additional shoreline protection and parking to the activities previously presented in the Final EA.
Previous activities presented in the Final EA and FONSI include the construction of 25 slips for transient boats greater than 26 feet in length, an upgrade of the existing marina facilities including dredging, electric and water service, fuel dock, sewage pump-out, walkways, service building upgrades, and other associated amenities.
The project is proposed by the City of Fulton, Illinois and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for funding through the Boating Infrastructure Grant Program (Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Act), administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Projects funded by the Service are required to comply with NEPA and other associated Federal requirements including the Historic Preservation Act and the Endangered Species Act.
