The following web pages provide step-by-step guidance to help you determine whether your activity or project may cause the non-purposeful take of eagles and thus require a permit. This site also has recommendations to help you avoid the non-purposeful take of bald eagles.

These recommendations are valid only for the States of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Please Note!

Eagles are unlikely to be disturbed by routine use of roads, homes, or other facilities where such use was present before an eagle pair successfully nested in a given area. This guidance is specifically for new or intermittent activities.
