Hunting and Fishing

Hunting

Waterfowl hunting is permitted in the Liverpool Lake section of Chautauqua Refuge, which is located outside of the main dike. This hunting area is accessible from the Illinois River only. Hunting of waterfowl and other migratory game birds, upland game birds, and deer is allowed on portions of the Emiquon Refuge. This link opens in a new windowClick here for a map of Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge's hunting areas (84 KB).

Fishing

Sport fishing is permitted on all refuges within the Illinois River Complex. Certain areas on Chautauqua and Meredosia Refuges are closed during designated periods.
