Migratory Birds Committee
The Great Lakes ecosystem
provides important migration corridors and critical breeding, feeding,
and resting areas for numerous species of
migratory and resident birds - especially colonial shorebirds, waterfowl,
and neotropical migrants.
The
Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem Team is addressing migratory bird issues
through formation of a Migratory Birds Committee. The Service and partners have
been actively involved with a number of species including the double-crested
cormorant and Kirtland's
warbler
among
others.
