Endangered Species Committee

A recent survey of biological diversity identified 130 globally endangered or rare plant and animal species which inhabit the Great Lakes ecosystem.

The Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem Team is addressing endangered species through the formation of the Endangered Species Committee. Upcoming priorities include to:

Complete develpment of the core committee and develop a mission statement,
Increase multi-partner coordination,
Identify habitat focus area priorities, and
Develop conservation strategies for focus areas.
