Northern Long-eared Bat

Range Maps

This map shows the northern long-eared bat range overlain with forested areas. Because northern long-eared bats require trees for roosting during summer, the forested areas within the range indicate where this bat may occur during times when it is not hibernating (spring through fall).

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking additional information on known locations of northern long-eared bats, and expects the range will change as this information is provided. For this reason, the depicted range should be considered draft.

The map below shows the range of the northern long-eared bat overlain with the counties that have hibernacula with confirmed and suspected evidence of white-nose syndrome.

**This is not the current version of counties with confirmed and suspected evidence of white-nose syndrome. Go here for the most current version of the white-nose syndrome occurrence map.
