Fisheries Biology
Fishery biologists in Region 3 have an exciting career facing many challenges and are involved with restoring some of the most sensitive aquatic species in our region. Our biologists are working with state and tribal biologists to remove barriers for migrating fish, to combat invasive species, and are to monitor populations of fish and mussels. Fishery biologists work closely with 34 Native American tribal governments in our region to fulfill the Service's trust responsibilities to manage tribal natural resources. Biologists also assist Federal land managers (e.g. Department of Defense) manage fish and wildlife on Federal lands.
