Partners for Fish & WildlifeBe A Partner

Landowners interested in restoring wildlife habitat on their land may contact their local U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Office. A private lands biologist will provide free expert advice on habitat management.

At your request, the biologist will meet with you on your property to develop a habitat restoration plan. After walking the land to see potential restoration projects, discussion can begin about design and location of a project. A voluntary wildlife habitat management plan is developed explaining project goals, objectives, and costs. With your approval of the plan, the biologist will be available for advice and assistance throughout the duration of the agreement.

• Up to 100 percent funding for habitat restoration may be available.

• Biologists provide advice to benefit game and nongame species; including waterfowl, endangered species, turkeys, grassland birds, fish and invertebrates.

• Biologists advise on the design and location of potential habitat restoration projects and provide financial assistance to implement the projects.

• Implement voluntary, on the ground habitat restoration projects that benefit
fish and wildlife species on private lands.

• Restoration strategies tailored to each landowner's
specific goals and wildlife habitat needs.
