February 8, 2007 - Final Rule to Delist Gray Wolf Western Great Lakes DPS
This Rule is no longer in effect.
On September 29, 2008, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled in favor of the Humane Society and vacated this final rule back to the Service. This means that the final rule is no longer applicable. Subsequently, the Service published the April 2, 2009 Final Rule to delist the Gray Wolf - Western Great Lakes DPS.
About the Feb. 8, 2007 Final to Delist
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service removed ESA protection for the Gray Wolf Western Great Lakes Distinct Population Segment in this Final Rule which was published in the Federal Register on February 8, 2007 and took effect on March 12, 2007.
