6 miles of the 24 mile Great River Bike Trail are within the refuge from Black River to Halfway Creek

Easy. Maximum grade is three percent.  The trail surface is finely crushed limestone suitable for walking or biking much of the year.  Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are available when there is adequate snow, but be aware snowmobiles also use the trail.
