Our Naturalists know 'Conservation Starts Now'!

CONSERVATION STARTS NOW! Squaw Creek NWR is dedicated to keeping our Wild Places Wild. We know the real key to this effort rests in the hand of today's youth.  As we ready ourselves to pass the baton to the next generation it is our responsibility to educate these children and spark a wonder and passion for the Great Outdoors.  The refuge has developed two programs dedicated to just this:  The Junior Naturalist Program and the After School Program.

Become a Jr. Naturalist:

This Program consists of 14 weeks of free classes geared toward educating and entertaining children of grade school age and is held every Thursday throughout the summer at 6:30 pm. Participants may join us for any of our fourteen programs beginning May 24th and extend through the summer until the last Thursday of August. Participants may join us for any of our fourteen programs beginning the last Thursday of May and extend through the summer until the last Thursday of August. Although the 2011 summer fun is over, you can always officially Enroll for next year's program to earn a Certificate and become a Squaw Creek Junior Naturalist!
