2008 Deer Hunting Information

For information about the 2008 refuge deer hunts and hunt choices please download the 2008 Information Sheet (PDF file - 72 KB). You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the PDF file.

Priority Point System

New in 2008 - Partners will be selected based upon the partner with the LOWEST point total. For more information about the priority point system and the selection process, please see the Priority Point System Standards (PDF file - 19 KB).

Point Totals and Drawing Results

Visit huntshiawassee.org to view point totals and drawing results. Click on "Hunter Points Report" near the bottom of the page. Following the drawing, your point totals will change. If you were selected for a hunt, that point total will become zero.  For example if you were selected for an either sex hunt, you will now have zero either sex points while your anterless points will be the same.  All listings are either by sport card number or driver's license number.  The following key will help you interpret the information:

  • "A" column = anterless points

  • "B" column = either sex points

  • "Permit Won" = selected for the hunt

  • "No permit" = not selected for the hunt

  • "No application" = no application entered into drawing
