Contaminants biologist provide technical
assistance for the Savanna Army Depot CERCLA Clean Up and
prepare environmental liability reviews for land transfer to
Lost Mound Unit. This projects helps the Refuge System
obtain lands free of environmental liability and ecological
hazards.

Refuge staff and contaminants biologists process
bird specimens from Union Slough National Wildlife Refuge as
part of a study to investigate the effects of selenium exposure.
The results of this study will be used to develop resource
management response actions to mitigate the effects of selenium
if it is shown to be a problem.
