Visitor Center Hours:
6 days a week, 7:30am - 4:00pm, Closed Sundays.

Closed December 24-26, 31 and January 1-2, 2012 to observe federal holidays.

Visitor Center trails and the refuge are open sunrise to sunset.
After-hours bathrooms are available on the southwest end of the visitor center.

The main entrance to the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge is located off of Highway 21 between the Village of Necedah and the town of Tomah. The physical address for the refuge is:

Getting Here

Located in central Wisconsin, Necedah National Wildlife Refuge is 180 miles southeast of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and 150 miles northwest of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Refuge lies north of Highway 21 and west of Highway 80, with all property in Juneau County.

By Car or Bus:

From Interstate 90/94 or Tomah:  Drive eastbound on Highway 21 for 20 miles. Look for brown highway guide signs to the National Wildlife Refuge. Turn left onto Headquarters Road and drive north for two miles to reach the Visitor Center.

From the Village of Necedah:  Drive westbound on Highway 21 for five miles. Look for brown highway guide signs to the National Wildlife Refuge. Turn right onto Headquarters Road and drive north for two miles to reach the Visitor Center.

Visitor Center

The Necedah Refuge Visitor Center facilities include a visitor center with book store, theater, classrooms, meeting space, and exhibit area. A network of trails radiate from the center with bathroom facilities available 24 hours daily.

The Visitor Center is located at N11385 Headquarters Road, Necedah, WI 54646-8289. 

Hours are
7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Saturday. Closed December 24-26, 31 and January 1-2, 2012, to observe federal holidays. Open seven days a week from April 1 through November 30. Please call ahead to verify as hours are subject to change (608-565-2551).
