Indiana Field Trial NEPA
Final Environmental Assessment To Allow
Limited Use of Indiana Fish and Wildlife Properties
for Field Trials on Glendale, Pigeon River,
Tri-County, and Winamac Wildlife Management Areas
The final Environmental Assessment (EA) for considering whether field trials should be allowed on a limited number of Wildlife Management Areas was approved on December 12, 2002. The Proposed Alternative (A) was selected which allows field trials of limited size at the four areas listed in the title for limited times (February 1 to April 15) each year. In addition, participants would be restricted to walking and no more than a 100 acre block would be available for use. The two other Alternatives considered were the "No Action" Alternative (no field trials allowed) and an Alternative where field trials would have been phased out after 10 years.Provided below is a copy of the final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). Printed copies of the final EA are also available for review at the Indiana DNR, 402 W.
