Visitor Center

The headquarters of the Morris Wetland Management District provides enhanced public recreation opportunities. Inside the building, a visitor reception area contains interpretive exhibits and taxidermy to help teach about managing land in the prairie pothole region.

A 1.1 mile hiking trail begins and ends at the headquarters building. The trail winds through grassland, wetland, and wooded habitats. A short trail loop is wheelchair accessible. A 3.5 mile gravel driving trail is open spring through autumn and provides an opportunity to both see wildlife and learn about wildlife management techniques. A photo blind overlooking a wetland adjacent to the walking trail is available for use during daylight hours.

Normal office hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. The building is also open at other hours during various special events.
