Sport fishing is a favorite pastime in Minnesota and the Refuge offers a variety of fishing opportunities.

All Minnesota State regulations pertaining to fishing will be enforced. Shore fishing is allowed on all Refuge waters. Boat fishing is only allowed on the Minnesota River. Some areas have been posted as No Fishing Zones to protect buildings, private property or critical habitat areas. Please respect any signed area you encounter in the field.

Minnesota River Boat Launch Access
The Refuge has one boat ramp location, Long Meadow Lake Unit - Russell A. Sorenson Landing (Lyndale Avenue Trailhead). The Refuge does not maintain the boat ramp. For questions please contact the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, 651-296-6157.
