Minnesota Valley NWR Bloomington Visitor Center Grand Re-opening
August 7, 2010
After a 15 month renovation of the facility and exhibits, Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge celebrated the grand re-opening of the Bloomington Visitor Center.
This special event brought out crowds of visitors, young and old, to learn about the importance of national wildlife refuges and celebrate a rare urban refuge in their own backyard. The Refuge staff hosted a wide array of public talks and educational activities, including a wild bird release by the University of Minnesota's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and a performance by musician, storyteller and naturalist, Doug Wood.
