Spawning Activities:

Mature female coaster brook trout. Lake trout and brook trout broodstock are held in deep cement raceways. Mature fish are lifted into a holding tank prior to spawning. Mature female lake trout about to be spawned. Female lake trout are first prepared for spawning and then carried to the egg collection station.
Egg collection station. Pure oxygen is injected into the body cavity to expel eggs. As the oxygen enters the body of the fish, the eggs are gently displaced into a collection pan. Once the eggs have been fertilized, the excess milt (sperm) is washed from the egg's pan. Fertilized eggs are placed in an iodine solution for one hour.  This practice will kill any bacteria that are attached to the eggs.

Pond cleaning. Moving fish feed. Fish food feeding devise. Treating fish with oxytetracycline to identify them as originating from a fish hatchery. Treating fish with oxytetracycline to identify them as originating from a fish hatchery. Nylon stocking used to collect silt.
