Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act (GLFWRA)

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) has selected Fiscal Year 2014 project proposals to protect, restore and enhance Great Lakes fish and wildlife habitat under the Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act (Act).

The purpose of the Act is to provide assistance to States, Indian Tribes, and other interested entities to encourage cooperative conservation, restoration and management of the fish and wildlife resources and their habitats in the Great Lakes Basin.  Supported in part by President Obama’s Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, a total of approximately $2.0 million is projected to be available to support projects this fiscal year.

The Service is planning to request that interested entities submit restoration, research and Regional project proposals for the restoration of Great Lakes fish and wildlife resources.

We expect the Fiscal Year 2015 request to be sent out on November 3rd, 2014 and the deadline for proposal submission to be Monday, December 15, 2014 by 8:00 PM EST.
