Hine's Emerald Dragonfly Recovery Plan

The Hine's Emerald Dragonfly (Somatochlora hineana) Recovery Plan presents a blueprint for action by Federal and State agencies, other organizations, and private landowners interested in helping recover this endangered dragonfly. A PDF version of the Recovery Plan is available below. Because the file size is large (4.6 MB), the Plan is also separated into sections for faster viewing and downloading. Additionally, the Recovery Plan is available as a hard copy by request from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's Chicago Field Office (1250 South Grove St., Suite 103, Barrington, IL 60010; Phone 847/381-2253). TTY users may contact the Service through the Federal Relay Service at 8-800-877-8339.

The Hine's emerald dragonfly lives in special wetlands called "fens" and it is found in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, and Alabama.
