Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar recently unveiled the National Water Trails System, a new network that will increase access to water-based outdoor recreation, encourage community stewardship of local waterways, and promote tourism that fuels local economies across America.
To help support this new water trail system, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is a proud partner of the Summer of Paddling 2012. We encourage you to get out on the Mississippi River, or any waterway, with a canoe or kayak and enjoy America's Great Outdoors this year.
