Cache River Wetland Center

Cache River Wetland Center:
Now Open!

The Henry N. Barkhausen-Cache River Wetlands Center is open to the public, Wednesday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 7,000-square foot interpretive center, is owned and managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Cache River State Natural Area and jointly operated with the support of Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge staff.

The center is designed to provide visitors with a wealth of information about the value of wetlands, the area’s rich cultural and natural history and unique diverse natural areas (sites) to explore.
