Volunteers play a vital role in much of the work accomplished by the Ashland NFWCO. Volunteers support the Fish and Wildlife Service by donating thousands of hours in various activities that benefit natural resources in numerous ways. Volunteers are welcome to join our fishery and wildlife staff for day long trips to the field or assist us in the lab. Volunteers are also needed with skills outside of the traditional fish and wildlife biology like data entry, net repair, shop maintenance, photography, teaching or other disciplines are all welcome.

You will need to provide:

  • Your volunteer time on a regular basis.
  • Your own transportation.
  • Your skills, knowledge and enthusiasm.

The Ashland NFWCO will provide:

  • A volunteer opportunity that matches your abilities and interests.
  • Orientation to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Ashland NFWCO.
  • Training for the volunteer opportunity you select.
  • A Volunteer Agreement with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service which covers you for injuries incurred while on the job.
  • Recognition and thanks for your contributions.
