Employment and Volunteering

Employment opportunities at the Alpena NFWCO are posted on the USA Jobs web site, found on-line at http://www.usajobs.gov . US Fish and Wildlife Service jobs can easily be accessed on the site through the FWS CARES web site http://www.fws.gov/jobs.

Seasonal Employment
Seasonal employees assist staff during the field season with fishery assessment and habitat projects. Programs are available for career work experience and on-the-job training for students with fishery career goals. For more information on seasonal employment opportunities please contact our office - Alpena@fws.gov - or look for postings at USA Jobs http://www.usajobs.gov.

Volunteering
We welcome volunteer assistance for office and field activites. Volunteers have multiplied our efforts and come through to make many of our projects possible. We highly vaule their talents, time and contributions as partners in the work we conduct. Volunteering is a good opportunity for those who are interested in fisheries, who are pursuing education or jobs in the fishery field, and/or those who would like to serve the government and environment with their time and talents. There are numerous opportunities awaiting volunteers. If you are interested in assisting the Alpena NFWCO with fishery activities, please contact our office - Alpena@fws.gov.
