Pacific Princess Visit to Midway Atoll June 9, 2005 |

The Pacific Princess visited Midway Atoll on Wednesday, June 1, bringing nearly 600 people to tour the historic sites and wildlife spectacle on Sand Island. Visitors came ashore in small groups for a 2-hour walking tour of the "downtown" area. FWS staff and volunteers provided briefings at several stops along the tour route. |

Midway Atoll was the first stop for the cruise ship, which departed Honolulu on May 29 for a 27-day tour of World War II battle sites in the Pacific. Other stops include Majuro, Guadalcanal, Rabaul, Guam, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Nagasaki, and Beijing. |
