Public hunting for waterfowl and upland birds is permitted on portions of all five refuges within the Mid-Columbia River Refuges Complex. Each refuge administers a different hunt program. Visit any of our Refuges listed below for specific hunting information, including applications for hunt reservation permits. Attention Hunters! Applications for waterfowl hunt permits for the 2007-2008 season for both the McNary (WA) and the McCormack Slough (OR) Fee Hunt Units are now available on this site (below). The absolute-no-excuses due date for permits is September 4th, 2007. Didn't get a permit ? Reminder to hunters - you may still get permits and hunt, if available, on a stand-by basis on the morning of each hunt. Arrive at the hunt check station no later than 11/2 hours before legal shooting hours to try for a stand-by permit. For more information call the Complex Headquarters at (509) 371-9212. Follow this season's waterfowl migration: Ducks Unlimited and Waterfowler.com have joined forces to heighten hunter awareness and provide real-time Mapping of the North American Waterfowl Migration during the 2007-2008 general waterfowl hunting season using Waterfowler.coms interactive GIS Migration Mapping System. With over 100,000 active participants providing zip code based field reports, this tool captures the interest and imagination of web-browsing waterfowl hunters and birding enthusiasts across the nation. This season, hunters will be able to view the map and contribute information online through DUs web site or Waterfowler.com. Cold
