Closures

Bairs Cove Boat Ramp is open!

Black Point Wildlife Drive is open!

Shiloh Marsh road/Sawmill Dike is closed to vehicle traffic! You can still walk or bike the road.

L Pond Road is closed indefinitely to vehicle traffic due to storm damage.

Peacock's Pocket is open. (This road may be closed during rainy conditions)

Manatee Observation Deck Closed
The Manatee Observation Deck located along the northwest side of Haulover Canal is being rebuilt and will be closed for construction.   The construction period is expected to last about 2 months, beginning December 14 and lasting through February 27.  If you are interested in viewing manatees a good alternative location is Bairs Cove Boat ramp, located on the southwest side of Haulover Canal.

Catfish Creek Loop is closed until November 1. It is closed while hurricane damage is repaired.

Pumphouse Road has been closed at SR 406 on the northeast side and at the two telephone poles at the western side.

Events

 

Exotic Plant Removal Project

Canaveral National Seashore will be starting an exotic plant removal project Monday, December 1, 2008. The project will start at the Northern Playalinda Beach parking lot and go north along the seashore to New Smyrna Beach Visitors Center. Exotic Plant Control contract employees will be using an airboat to access treatment areas. Efforts will be made to minimize the impact on the environment.
