Welcome To The Mid-Columbia River Refuges
|
The Mid-Columbia River National Wildlife Refuge Complex provides management and support for seven national wildlife refuges and one national monument. All the lands are on or near the Columbia River in Washington and Oregon—Cold Springs, Columbia, Conboy Lake, McKay Creek, McNary, Toppenish and Umatilla National Wildlife Refuges and Hanford Reach National Monument.
The Complex has a new office at 64 Maple Street in Burbank, Washington. Our telephone is (509) 546-8300, and the fax number is (509) 546-8303. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The office is closed on weekends and federal holidays.
We also have a new Education Center. Not to be confused with a Visitor Center, the Education Center is available to school classes to learn about the wildlife and habitats in the Columbia Basin. Please contact the Friends of the Mid-Columbia River Wildlife Refuges for scheduling. The Friends Group also hosts events for the general public on the "Second Saturday" of each month.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2009 MCNARY & UMATILLA WATERFOWL HUNTING LOTTERIES: This year, lottery applications will be taken on-line. The application period is now open and MUST BE RECEIVED by September 11. Payment MUST ALSO BE RECEIVED by September 11. This will be explained through a receipt you will receive upon submission of your on-line application.
The lottery will be conducted right after the September 11 payment deadline, and you will be notified by email of the results. You will also be able to check the results on-line.
For those hunters lacking an email address, or without direct access to the web, a paper application will be available by either PDF download or calling our office for an application. Be sure to allow enough time for the U.S. Postal System. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO APPLY ONLINE IN ORDER TO ASSURE MEETING ALL DEADLINES!
