Mathews Brake National Wildlife Refuge is one of three refuges managed collectively as a “sub-complex” of the Theodore Roosevelt National Wildlife Refuge Complex. Staff stationed at Morgan Brake National Wildlife Refuge manage all three refuges. The "sub-complex" staff includes a refuge manager, two biological science technicians, and a tractor operator.
