The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge are partnering with the Palm Beach Zoo and Everglades Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (ECISMA), and sanctioned by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to host the first ever Pet Amnesty Day in Palm Beach County. And, we need you to be apart of this event.

What: 1st Annual Pet Amnesty Day in Palm Beach County

Where: West Palm Beach Garden Club

When: Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 10 AM to 4 PM

Why: Citizens of Palm Beach County have an opportunity by attending this event to surrender (no questions asked) their exotic pets and then in return citizens who want to adopt one of these pets can do so in a controlled setting.

How: By offering an event complete with informational/educational exhibitors and children's activities where citizens with exotic pets can surrender their pet, have it checked out by a veterinarian, be microchipped and then adopted by an individual who can care for such a pet. The surrender event will take place from 10 AM to 2 PM and the adoption event will take place from 2 PM to 4 PM. Please see the following flyers announcing the event:
