Hunting of big game, small game, and waterfowl is permitted during designated seasons. White-tail deer, Osceola turkeys, and feral hogs are the most sought-after species. Hunting license and state required stamps (not WMA stamps) are required in accordance with State regulations. One hundred anterless tags will be available December 9-13, for the free Family Hunt. See the free Refuge Permit on this page for details. Call Refuge headquarters with questions at 352/493-0238.

The Refuge Hunter Working Group Meeting is held annually on the first Saturday in May, at 10:00 AM in the Refuge headquarters off of highway 347, a mile south of Fowler's Bluff and 19 miles north of Cedar Key. For more information, call the Ranger at 352/493-0238.
