prevention, mapping and control of noxious weeds on the Refuge.
Personal benefits include: plant ID skills, basic GPS skills, knowledge
that can be used anywhere (home, community, Refuge), a space to
park a summer RV, and an opportunity to make a difference. Wanted Maintenance VolunteerFull RV hook-up in a "gated community" for approximately
32 hours per week of maintenance adventures which include: Campground
clean up and public contact; Leaflet patrol; Roadside clean-up;
Lawn mowing and irrigating; "Go-for" jobs to town; Office
clean-up and telephone duty. Friends of LPOThe Friends of the Little Pend Oreille NWR is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the conservation of native fish, wildlife, plants and their habitats on the Refuge, providing educational opportunities, and fostering understanding and appreciation of the Refuge. The Friends of LPO provide educational opportunities for area school groups, host Refuge outings, and are building two educational trails.
