Noxious Weeds - Herbicides

Starting in Spring 2000, the Refuge will begin using herbicides to help control the spread of hound's tongue at the south end of the refuge. After utilizing all other forms of weed control available (prevention, mechanical control, biological control, grazing), spraying of herbicides has become necessary to help prevent the spread of this invasive species. Herbicides will be used in conjunction with other control methods as an additional tool.
