Leavenworth, Entiat, and Winthrop National Fish Hatcheries are open year round and are open to the public. Come explore our hatcheries, talk with staff, watch our operations, and learn about our fish and the environment they live in. There is something for all ages to discover!

The Leavenworth NFH maintains a Visitor Center open to the public with exhibits on salmon and an original artistic salmon mural. Other activities include a self-guided Hatchery Tour, the Icicle Creek Nature Trail, and an outdoor trout viewing aquarium.

Each year in June, Entiat and Winthrop NFHs offer a free Kids Fishing Day to celebrate National Boating and Fishing Week. Link to our calendar of events to find out what's happening at the hatcheries.

All three hatcheries have picnic areas and spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities.

We are the proud hosts of the award winning, Wenatchee River Salmon Festival, held annually in Leavenworth. Don't miss this free family event coming up during September 15 - 18, 2005! See www.salmonfest.org website for lots of information and fun photos of the event. Celebrate the return of the salmon with us!

Our partnership programs include teacher workshops, Kids in the Creek, Watershed Watchers, Envirothon, Fin Bins and other Discovery Boxes, salmon restoration projects, National Fishing Week Kids' Days, Cascade Discovery High School, and much more. Our supportive non-profit organization, Friends of Northwest Hatcheries, manages unique special uses on hatchery lands.
