Friends
of Northwest Hatcheries is a non-profit group of volunteers
dedicated to supporting, providing for and enhancing natural
resource education and interpretation. The goal of Friends is
to foster the education, especially of young people, in the
conservation and continuing stewardship of our fish and wildlife
resources and their habitat. We do this through actively supporting
such activities as the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival, natural
resource scholarships, seminars and lectures, operating the Dworshak Spawn Shop in Ahsahka, Idaho. This gift
store is filled with unique fish and wildlife merchandise and
educational materials.
Friends works
in conjunction
with the Leavenworth, Entiat and Winthrop hatcheries and
has chapters located at several other Pacific Northwest Hatcheries
including Spring Creek and Carson
in
Washington
and Dworshak, Kooksia and Hagerman in Idaho. We thank the hard-working
volunteers of Friends for their support!
