New Agent Recruitment

We are currently recruiting for 24 new Special Agents. For information, log on to http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/ or use the following links:
Special Agent GS-9/11/12 Government Wide: FWS9-08-02
Special Agent GS-9 Career-Intern: FWS9-08-01

This recruitment effort includes announcements targeting current government employees eligible for GS-1811 positions at all three grade levels. We are also recruiting outside candidates for initial appointment at the GS-9 level under the Federal Career Intern Program. Individuals selected under this program will be hired at the GS-9 level (full promotion potential to the GS-12 level) and will serve 2 years in an excepted appointment. Upon successful completion of the formal 2-year training program, individuals can be non-competitively converted to a permanent position.

Projected timetable for new agent hire:

  • January 2 – 22, 2008 - vacancy announcements will be open
  • April – May, 2008 – conduct interviews
  • June 2008 – make selections
  • Early August 2008 – new agents report for training
