Yukon River Salmon Act

Yukon River Salmon Act (16 USC 5701 et seq., P.L. 104-43, November 3, 1995, 109 Stat 392) as amended by P.L. 106-450, November 7, 2000, 114 Stat 1941; P.L 108-219, April 13, 2004, 118 Stat 615.

The primary objective of the 1995 statute is to implement the interim agreement for the conservation of salmon stocks originating from the Yukon River in Canada agreed to through an exchange of notes between the United States and Canada on February 3, 1995 and to provide for the representation by the United States on the Yukon River Panel as well as authorize appropriations to carry out the responsibilities of the United States under the agreement. Additional amendments served to reauthorize the original legislation.
