This Act, National Fisheries Center and Aquarium Act of 1962 (16 U.S.C. 1051-1058, 76 Stat. 752) -- Public Law 87-758, approved October 9, 1962, authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to plan, construct and maintain a National Fisheries Center and Aquarium in the District of Columbia.
The Act establishes an Advisory Board to assist in management decisions, and further authorizes the procurement, operation and maintenance of vessels for the collection of specimens for the Center. It also directs the establishment of user fees to liquidate, within 30 years, the $10 million authorized for construction of the Center, and to pay for annual operation and maintenance.
