Comprehensive Conservation Plan
PROJECT PROFILE
Current Status:
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has completed the Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) and associated NEPA documents for Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). The Final CCP should be available to the public later this year (see Planning Update 5 for details).
An overview of the CCP process is provided in Planning Update 1 (posted to the left).
Public scoping began in late 2006, and a public meeting was held at the Volusia County Agricultural Center on September 7, 2006. A summary of the public comments is listed in Planning Update 2 (posted to the left).
The Service developed an environmental assessment (EA) to analyze management alternatives for future management of the Refuge. Information concerning the EA can be found in Planning Update 3.
The Draft CCP and EA were made available for public comment from April 23 through May 23, 2008 (for details see Planning Update 4 posted to the left).
Purpose of CCP:
The Final CCP will guide management of the Refuge for the next 15 years.
