Lacreek National Wildlife Refuge Migration Update

Attention goose hunters: Lacreek NWR is a no retrieval zone for waterfowl. When hunting in the ditches please try to avoid shooting at geese that may fall in the Refuge.

Waterfowl use of the Refuge may change daily due to the interaction between weather and migration events.
The Refuge is open to pheasant and sharptail grouse hunting. A free permit is required to hunt upland birds on the Refuge, permits may be obtained online or at the information kiosks.
If you are planning a trip, feel free to contact Headquarters (605-685-6508) during normal business hours of 7 AM to 3:30 PM MST Monday through Friday excluding Holidays to check on road conditions.
