BISMUTH-TIN SHOT gained temporary approval from the U.S.Fish & Wildlife Service for use in waterfowl hunting during latter part of the 1994-95 season pending the completion of required toxicity testing by the petitioner, Bismuth Cartridge Company. Temporary approvals were later issued for the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons. On January 29, 1997, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service gave final approval for the use of bismuth-tin shot for waterfowl hunting.
