Refuge RAWS Stations

One of the most driving forces affecting wildfires and prescribed fire is weather. Temperatures, humidity, wind speed and other factors have direct impacts on the spread, intensity and potential growth of fires. Use the links below to check the current weather conditions at our wildlife refuges. The links at left will guide you to national weather websites.

Wildlife refuge weather conditions are monitored by Remote Automated Weather Stations (RAWS) which use satellite technology to send readings from a local unit to central database.
