Volunteer Program

Photo of Volunteers and Visitors at Kilauea Point An active volunteer group at Kīlauea Point contributes approximately 7,000 hours of service to the refuge annually. The Kīlauea Point Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to give back to Kaua‘i. Volunteers play an integral role in the daily operation of Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge and are readily available to answer questions and provide natural and cultural history information. The personal contacts provided by these volunteers to the visiting public provide an outstanding educational experience for visitors.
