Visiting James Campbell National Wildlife RefugeThe Ki‘i Unit of the James Campbell NWR is open to the public on a limited basis during the nonbreeding season. Visitors are welcome from the third Saturday in October through the third Saturday in February and closed during the remainder of the year to provide undisturbed habitat ae‘o breeding season. Guided public tours are offered during this time on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings of the first two Saturdays of the month, and in the afternoon on the last two Saturdays of the month. Contact the refuge office to reserve a space on the tour at 808-637-6330 (option 3). Come and join other birders from around the island, the State, our country, and the world who find their way to the James Campbell NWR. |
