The Wildlife Without Borders-Africa Program funds projects that strengthen the ability of African individuals and institutions to manage and conserve species, habitats, and ecological processes for the benefit of the people of Africa and the world.

Wildlife Without Borders defines capacity building as strengthening the ability of individuals and organizations to conserve biodiversity. Capacity building approaches can include training, facilitating dialogue, program development, and provision of equipment and other resources.

Projects should build capacity in one (or more) of the following themes:

- Threat Reduction
- Protected Area Management
- Training Programs
- Decision Makers

For Fiscal Year 2012, the call for applications will be limited to capacity building projects in Gabon only.
